Trustee Online - Physicians and Medical Staff
Published by Texas Healthcare Trustees

Summary
Welcome to TRUSTEE ONLINE, providing 24/7 education for hospital and health care trustees. The Physicians and Medical Staff module is one in a series of nine different modules.

Just as the board delegates the management of the hospital to the CEO and his/her administrative team, it also delegates the delivery of quality health care through the medical staff. As health care delivery continues to evolve, collaboration between physicians and hospitals becomes more important. Governing board members can play an important role in creating and preserving trust with physicians and ensuring open communication.

This module of TRUSTEE ONLINE was underwritten by a contribution from Merritt Hawkins and Staff Care, AMN Healthcare companies. Healthcare Governance Academy, a trademarked organization under Texas Healthcare Trustees, partnered with Merritt Hawkins and Staff Care, the nation’s leading physician staffing and consulting firms, to bring tools to hospital board members. Their contribution of leadership, resources, and expertise has made this project possible.
